So yeah, for those of you excited for the latest Super Robot Wars game, Super Robot Wars Y, the DLC trailer just dropped, showing what we'll be getting in the coming months or however long it takes.
For those unfamiliar with the series, it's a Tactical RPG series ala Fire Emblem but with Giant Robots. The first two games in the series came out in 1991 on the Gameboy and NES respectively, and it's been a staple on consoles since (a fair number of them Nintendo ones), though it's only recently that it's started getting a western reelase. Super Robot Wars Y releases on Thursday on Switch, PS5, and Steam.
Each DLC pack contains five units from three different series, 1-2 supporters, and 16 stages to tell a mini campaign with them.
DLC Pack 1:
1981's Galaxy Cyclone Braiger
1999's The Big O
2022's FUUTO PI and its Movie (a manga/anime sequel to Kamen Rider W). Three of the five units come from Fuuto PI: Kamen Rider Double, Kamen Rider Accel, and Kamen Rider Skull.
The two support units in this pack are apparently Dorothy from The Big O and Tokime from Fuuto PI.
DLC Pack 2:
1975's Kotetsu Jeeg
A Dynamic Planning Original: Getter Robo: The Jet Black Drifters (aka Getter Noir from the mobile game). It starts off as Getter Noir 1 before combining with 2 and 3 to become Getter Noir G.
1992's The Brave Fighter of Legend Da-Garn. Da-Garn X eventually upgrades to Great Da-Garn GX.
The support unit for this pack is Seiji from Da-Garn.
On top of that, we're getting six OG units (original mechs from the franchise's history), three via preordering, and three via buying the bundle of the two DLC packs.
The preorder mechs are the Cybuster, and SRW V's protagonist final mechs, the Granvang and the Vangnex. The DLC 1 and 2 bonuses are the Xelguard from SRW X and the Tyranado and Tyranado Rex from SRW T.
I've been waiting for four years for a new game in the series (the longest its ever been since the series started in 1991), so I am excited to finally play it.
