Pokemon

On a scale of 1 to 10, how important do you think the Pokémon story should be?

I know, technically speaking, story is important, but technically, I prefer an adventure vibe over something super complex and big. Part of the charm of Gen 1 and 2 (no, I'm not a hardcore fan of the first games) was the adventure vibe—you'd beat gyms, deal with some thieves, and beat the champion, and that was it.

After that, we started having mandatory encounters with legendaries, which got more and more insane in terms of concept with each game (after all, we can put the god of the Pokémon world on a PC). Obviously, I like it when the story is good, but I know that's more a matter of taste than anything else.

What do you guys think? Do we need more complex and engaging stories? Or just "Here, catch this Pokémon and be happy, and beat that legendary Pokémon even if you're a 10/12-year-old, please. Thanks for playing."
