This is pretty normal now. They do a sale around the start of th eseason and then big price drops around the holidays and practically give it away around new years time to get people to buy before the super bowl. 2K is similar with the NBA. Always can save a ton if you can wait a bit but many people need it day one when it comes to sports because they want to follow along with the actual real world season.

This happens every year with Madden. It runs fine on switch2, it has crashed during online matches though. I just play ultimate team challenges and play some weekly matchups I’m interested in.

Always love topics regarding sports games, because a bunch of people, that don’t play them or understand their appeal to fans of the sport, chime in with the dumbest takes.
Is it a refresh with minimal adjustments? Yes. The appeal is the updated rosters, rules, tweaks, and the ability to play with while the season is going on. Will they drop a ton as the season progresses? Sure, because their appeal drops the later you get into the season. Using the old rosters and ratings doesn’t match up with their real life counterparts, thus ruining the immersion for fans of the sport, which is the target audience.
