Pokemon Go

More opportunities to buy/obtain old stickers, please! (+ Sticker design contests)

I know people have been grieving the loss of community day stickers; I have too. Real talk, one of my favorite activities in PoGo is matching fun postcards to relevant stickers. However, there's nothing quite so disheartening as running out of a particular useful sticker, knowing I will probably never ever see it again.

One of my favorite shop events was the one in December last year where a bunch of old stickers came back very briefly. However, it was only a fraction of all the stickers that have existed, and let's be real – once a year for a handful of days seems unnecessarily restrictive. I don't know if they're trying to capitalize on FOMO here, but odds are the people who don't care about stickers will never care about them, and the people who do care hardly ever get the chance to throw their money at them.

All the stickers don't have to be available all the time. But maybe they could rotate old ones into the store seasonally in small batches. Or! Another fun idea is that old stickers could be a rare drop from catching the corresponding pokemon – another incentive to catch meta-irrelevant pokemon you might otherwise overlook.

Finally, (and this goes without saying), I personally believe getting rid of community day stickers was a mistake. I'm not sure why they did it – maybe they decided it wasn't worth paying artists for? But if that's the main issue, I have another idea that could solve that problem:

Sticker design contests! Not only would it drive social media engagement, but do you know how many artists would absolutely leap at the opportunity to submit stickers to be used in-game (myself included)? Unless I'm missing some sort of legal issue here, it seems like it'd be beneficial all around, and we could finally have community day stickers again.

So those are my ideas. As a bonus to support my argument, please enjoy some of my favorite postcard/sticker combinations I've saved over the years (names and locations censored to help preserve privacy).
