I started at level 44 with 62mil needed to get to 60 when the changes were announced. Now I'm at level 49 with only 19.5mil needed to achieve lvl 50 🙂 you got this everyone keep up the grind!

getting the the level 50 jacket is to commemorate those who did it before the rebalance, since all the tasks will go away from 41 to 50, and likely the effort will be much less hard to achieve 50. in other words, achieving 50 before the change was much more difficult, and they probably just want to make sure the people who did it still feel recognized for the effort that won't be required in the future rebalanced system, which will be much easier

1:35 is just that, so that they make people play the game more in the upcoming weeks so that they would get people to play the game more than normal.
i mean imagine if they had told us that "so lvl80 is coming to the game and we will rework the xp requirements and thus you will most likely jump in levels when this change happens."
then if they had followed it with just the info that lvl41 to lvl50 tasks go away but the rewards stayed available.
if i was some lvl45 player or something, at leas t i would not feel any rush to get to lvl50 in the 50 or so days they gave us with the notification, if i were to get all the stuff like lvl50 jacket and all posed and other accessories "for free" anyway.
so they HAD to remove those rewards or lot of players would have felt no rush to get that legacy lvl50 badge and vl50 pose.
I'm not saying that i like that they did so, even though I'm not affected as my account is already in lvl50 and has been for few years already.
but this increased activity to rush to get to lvl50 in time is exactly why they did this like this.
Has taken me 8 years to get 100M XP. Now I had to get 70M XP in 5 years. This math doesn't math.
getting a super infinite incubator for hitting level 80 would be sooooo hype… i always figured that should have been the reward for hitting level 50.

About releasing hundos, I agree, if it's pointless to keep it, why not, but
1. you can have 2 hundos with different movesets, to don't use TM
2. if it's possible you can keep hundos in different evolution state
