Pokemon

Is this team good? First time back to Pokemon since I was 12

To preface, I am M21, in college for genetics and biology and I am trying to reconnect with much of the past I left behind. I began replaying Pokemon Black and White 2 on my old DSi and fell in love with pokemon all over again.

I know that much has changed since I played as a kid, and with the realization that there was A LOT more to the game than I initially believed (had no clue what EVs, IVs, physical/special, etc. was) I wanted to know: how does this team hold up?

I know there are online battle simulators (I’ve seen them on YouTube and reels) and want to try my team out. Is it good? Any suggestions? It’s very gen 5 if you couldn’t already tell lol, Hydreigon and Volcarona are my favorite pokemon (with Serperior and Kingdra although I didn’t add them)

Try it out on Showdown and you will learn what it lacks or what meta picks its good against

This looks like a singles team not VGC so I’m going to assume as much.

The place to play singles is on Pokemon Showdown and they use a tiering system from the Smogon website. Your team will be placed in the tier with the highest tiered member of your team.

I’ll have to criticize this team based on that because some of these aren’t legal on cart to start, but cart uses mostly VGC for the meta anyway.

You have two Ubers on this team. Genesect and Volc. This means you’re going to be in a tier with Nukes like Calyrex, Kyogre, the Dons.

You don’t have any weather or terrain setters at all on the team, which means that you’re ceding both the weather wars and the terrain wars upfront. So any strategy that relies on this is going to run you over.

It also lacks a fairy type to check a lot of relevant threats. You have the makings of one with two steel types but a “Fairy, Steel, Dragon” core functions similarly to the “Fire, Water Grass” cores that build the backbones of so many teams.
