It looks like it took the artist a lot of time and effort. I’d say you paid accordingly 👍🏻

  2. Comfortable-Mess4365

Dude. That is amazing. Would definitely pay that. Thats some amazing stained glass work

  3. DAJurewicz26

If u did it just for the card I am disappointed in you. You should learn to appreciate art more.

  4. Well it’s a $20 card so if you truly don’t care about the artwork then yes it’s an awful deal.

  5. niftyanswersryy4askn

More than worth the price. That is some amazing art

  6. Powernick50

I think it’s beautiful. Someone made a great looking painting, and provided the card as well. Looks good. I’d say send them a message with your favorite card and see if they can paint another!

  7. Brooke_Berry

Any idea who the artist is? I’d love to check out more of their stuff! Also I think you paid around the right amount for an art/card combo(:

  8. TheTruthGnome

Is that stained glass? Looks beautiful 👍🏻

  9. strangewildernes

This is EPIC and worth it. Does it make you happy? Could you afford it and help a local artist? You made a great choice that benefits you both.

Drop a shout out to the artist, that’s fire!

I would probably even give up to $300 for this. My lady has done a little stained glass work and I’ve grown an appreciation for it.

  12. RevanMeetra

If someone is making stained-glass Pokémon stuff, tell us where to find it.

  13. plushiegengar

Omg that’s super pretty. I doubt you overpaid for the artistry! One of my fav SV arts

  14. Baeblade00312

If that’s true stained glass, it’s incredibly time consuming. so sounds like a steal to me!!

I piddle around with stained glass. This person created a template, likely spent $20+ for each unique color, made god knows how many attempts to cut the pieces out of the glass, grinded them down to size, foiled the edges, soldered everything together, patina on the solder. Then they painted the stars and face with specialty glass paint. $165 is a steal. That’s not even mentioning all the specialty tools you need to even get started.

Art is priceless. I hope you cut your bhole when you boof it

Honestly, if you know if the artist does online orders or offers shipping I’d be interested in their info. That is *gorgeous* and I’d love a piece done for myself.

  18. TylerrCreative

Considering it looks like real Stained Glass that’s probably a bargain. I feel the art itself is worth that but a $20 card with it makes it even better

  19. Ready-Morning329

Oh, you definitely paid for what you got. Honestly, I would have charged more for STAINED GLASS. Holy crap, this is incredible! 😍 Could you DM me the seller or link? I love this card and would also love something similar if I got the chance! I’d like to see what else they have in their shop. ❤️

  20. CrazedTechWizard

That’s gorgeous! I would love to own something like that.

Stained glass is one of those art mediums that literally takes an entire studio to work from. Think piles of glass everywhere, carving it to fit the size that’s needed, then putting it all together with dangerous specialized tools. Also looks like there’s some hand painting on that, too! Personally, I think you got a steal.

Hi! Glass artist here. I think you paid exactly right.

People have no idea how much work goes into stained glass. Each of those pieces has to be cut, ground, foiled, and then soldered. Then there’s also patina AND PAINTING on yours. You’re looking at 10 or 15 hours of work, easily, MINIMUM, depending on the skill and speed of the artist.

Most artists are encouraged to price at $4-6 per piece cut (edited to note: more for a HCOL area). That would put your piece at 27×5=135. Plus the card at $25 = $160. Five extra bucks for clean solder lines? Worth it imo. The glass choices are also beautiful. This artist knew what they were doing and I’d probably have paid the $185 easily. It’s excellent work.

  23. This is my favorite card ever and the only one I currently own. The stained glass is amazing!!

I mean, if you bought just for the card like you say then yea, you overpaid by about $140. But it’s great art, and it seems like you like it. So maybe you just worded the title poorly.

Edit: And now I see you’re saying in comments that you didn’t even notice the card until afterward…? So I dont know what’s going on, or what your title is trying to say. Nice piece of art, and it’s a great card though.

  25. SoggyPomegranate4258

Ask them to make me a snorlax under the stars like that ✨️

  26. TapeDespencer

I’d like to know who the artist is and if they do online orders

  27. I’d love to get stained glass stuff for some of the cards I like.

  28. LatterDoctor5910

    Totally worth it.

    That’s mad beautiful 😍

Hook the seller up and give us the deets so we can order too 🥹

  29. TheRealSlimSchwifty

If I remember correctly, stained glass is a real pain to make so time/skill involved doesn’t seem to shabby.

  30. Extra_Balance1671

If you think about the time that went into this piece, you paid a fair price

  31. Vil3Miasma

    OP said:

“I didn’t even notice the card at first”

“I got it as a gift”

“I bought it for 165 dollars”

This guy is lying or huffing some serious chemicals

  32. Real art takes a lot of time. $165 is unders for this imo. Even without the card
