For anyone out of the loop this is a remake of a game released in 2017, the developers promised a 30% discount for all people who had digital copies of that original release.
Come launch day the games Q&A page claims “Nintendo of America region players who own Yooka-Laylee are eligible for an automatic discount” and “regional store systems do not currently support this specific promotion”.
I’m Australian and use the Australian “regional store systems” – I bought a game with “this specific promotion” in August (Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced) and over the years have seen many other games do this in my region and Europe (only one one I can name is Hogwarts Legacy, but I remember a lot of shovel were having owners discounts over the years).
So what gives? Why make up this lie about why it’s not discounted elsewhere?
