Poketuber CandyEvie discovered that “Pokemon Friends” is just a reskin of a game from 2016

The game is called "Think! Think! Game For Kids" and it was released in 2016 and all the games from Pokemon Friends are present just not with Pokemon. It's made by the same company so it's not a ripoff but just a reskin of a game they already made.

She starts talking about the other game and then checking them out side-by-side at the 23:04 mark. Everything before that is her review of the game itself.

They weren't even hiding it that well. It was on the dev's website. She dug into it because none of the minigames were themed around plushies or yarn and seemed completely disconnected from the plushies and yarn elements.

This isn’t the first time this has happened. Pokemon Go is an Ingress reskin by the company that made Ingress.

Not surprising Pokémon Go is a reskin but with Pokémon mechanics

They weren’t hiding it well because they didn’t feel they needed to. This is a pretty common thing to do. Either the other game approaches GF about licensing Pokemon for it or the other way around. This is incredibly common for puzzle games especially

It’s a thing that happens quite a bit in the gaming industry, it’s a lot easier to make a reskin of an already existing game

Mario Bros 2 is one of the oldest of the bunch, reskin of Doki Doki Panic

I mean Dr Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine and Kirby’s Avalanche are also just PuyoPuyo reskins for Western markets.

    It happens a lot, lol.
