Nintendo Switch

PSA: With Pokémon Legends: Z-A out today, friendly reminder you can save $20 buying it & Metroid Prime 4 with NSO Vouchers

The vouchers are still available until January and will be valid a year after purchase, so even if you want to wait to commit to Metroid until reviews confirm it's not broken or anything, you could always use the second voucher for another game. And if you have a Switch 2, you can still buy the upgrade packs and end up spending $120 altogether on the pair's Switch 2 editions instead of $140.

And if you’re able to get a $100 eShop card with a discount at places like Costco to use for the vouchers, you can save even more.

Pretty sure they’ve also said they’ll keep adding games even throughout 2026 so it’s likely Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven will both be options to use final vouchers on

  3. I know u tryina advertise Prime 4 considering Nintendo’s allergic to properly advertising the game LMAO

  4. FederalMango

I wish they’d add Age of Imprisonment as an option too.

Did this to get Legends and Scarlet as I wanted to play scarlet before legends. Hoping a Switch 1 game will come out in the next year that I want so I can get a voucher for that and metroid

  6. Can vouchers be used between a parent and child account?

  7. iAmMr_WHO

You can also save $80 by not buying it at all!

  8. schuey_08

Did that and used eShop credit from Costco for another 10% off.

Devil’s advocate. It’s cheaper to buy the physical versions (usually can get them cheaper on ebay I got DK brand new for like $58) then resell them when you’re done with the game.

Warning. Nintendo does not notify you if your vouchers is about to expire. No warning. You just have to keep an eye on it.

I almost lost a voucher because of this.

It’s a great way to save money, but I still like physical cartridges. They are much more valuable on the switch one.

I’m still salty they didn’t add the Mario Galaxy collection to the voucher list given they are full priced Switch 1 games.

  13. I thought you couldn’t use the vouchers on switch 2 games? I remember seeing that on the eshop.

  14. huggalump

You can save even more by not buying Pokemon games

  15. Nachttalk

I got the S2 Version of Pokémon for 55€ instead of 70€, off Amazon i’m already saving more than i would by buying the voucher….

  16. Activehannes

Can I buy it on switch 2 shop, too? Or are there different switch version shops on switch 1 and 2?

  17. composero

Exactly what I did once I learned that ZA didn’t have any frame problems and looked decent on an OLED

  18. RegisteredOnToilet

I got that once, didnt read only valid for one year and it was gone… paid 100€ for Totk and looked pretty dumb when i wanted to buy xenoblade x with the voucher that was long gone.

Felt so scammed, but yea should have read more closely..

better one. Go to playasia, buy 10000 in eshop japan cards for abut $82, get japanese vouchers, same games, english, get to play 1 day sooner, and cheaper. I did this.

  20. Semi-random aside, but if you just buy the NS2 version, are you able to play the NS1 version as well? Like, personally, I have a NS2 I typically keep docked in the living room, an NS1 in my bedroom, and a Lite for travel purposes. So if I buy Z-A for NS2, would doing so lock me out of the NS1 version or would I be getting that too? Otherwise, buying the NS1 version + upgrade pack seems to be the way to go anyway, since it costs the same, no?

  21. I forgot about this, you were the last crack to convince me to buy Z-A. I did Z-A and Astral Chain.

  22. Temperley123

What’s the difference in buying the switch 2 version or the switch version and the upgrade beyond the price?

  23. Zeldabacon64

I would have used these more if I could’ve gifted a game to a friend

  24. Hold on I thought this was just for the switch 1 version not the switch 2 version

  25. tATuParagate

Too bad I wasted half of my 4 vouchers on games I didn’t even like 🫤

  26. danhakimi

*but* you need to have NSO to buy or spend a voucher.

so it’s more like, $20 of free NSO.

  27. StormTrooperGreedo

I’m just gonna throw this out there too. The Switch 2 edition cart works on the OG Switch, for those out there who haven’t upgraded their console yet but plan to eventually.

  28. Thanks I didn’t realize this, might get it later on since I plan on getting prime 4 and seems like Kirby air riders sadly won’t be eligible since switch 2 exclusive
