Hi! I haven't seen this Turbo Bench method posted online so I thought I would share what I have discovered with my fiance. This uses the same idea as the Wild Area 3 stairs method but instead utilizes the time passing feature when sitting on a bench. Another bonus of this method is that it is not interrupted by the day/night cycle like the WA3 method so it can run infinitely without interruption.
This method requires no coding, no DIY, no non-licensed equipment, and no exploit that would get you banned from Nintendo Online. Your switch and one controller straight out of the box.
I've used it on the Switch 2 but don't see why it wouldn't work on original Switch. Any Pokemon near a bench can be caught shiny AFK with this method!
What you need:
– A Switch 2 compatible controller with a Turbo button (a button which will repeatedly press A) I used the officially licensed Hori Switch 2 remote purchased at BestBuy (target, gamestop, amazon US will also have them soon)
– Rubber Band
– Docked Switch 2 (Hori Switch 2 controller is usb connection only)
You may also be able to use any physical autoclicker for A+ a rubber band on the left joycon. I have no programming experience so if you are handy with that you can avoid buying the turbo controller and do it yourself.
Setup:
- Find a location in the world with a bench within 50m of some spawning pokemon. If hunting in a wild zone, the bench does not need to be in a wild zone, but just within 50m of one. You can check this by placing a green pin on your map at the bench location and walking to your Pokemon location. You do not have to visually see the Pokemon in order for them to be rerolled.
- Sit on the bench and set up your Turbo button to hit A repeatedly.
- Use a rubber band to hold the left joycon down so your character returns to the bench when they get back up.
- Wait for your new friends!
Note: The turbo button on the Hori Switch 2 remote will always hit A faster than the input of the joystick pressing down, so it will not trigger any other option in the sit and wait menu. I can't guarantee other turbo buttons work the same way.
Results:
I have not tested this extensively yet but have seen some results! I hope this community can help expand this method.
It takes approximately 17 seconds for one full reset. That is about 211 rerolls/hour.
I sat my character down on the rightmost bench between Wild Area 6 and 11, and within 24 minutes (84 rerolls) I had a shiny Fletchling on the light pole!
Please help me research and expand this method!!

UPDATE:
I ran this at my Wild Area 6/11 bench location for 64 minutes (225 rerolls) and got a shiny Clauncher! Confirming that it works for benches next to and not just inside Wild Areas!
Solid guide.. but this strategy has been discussed in length here across multiple posts. Just an FYI.
Let’s say I buy a cheap controller with turbo function. But I noticed that if you have the D-pad facing downwards with a rubber band, when the text box pops up asking how long you want to sit on the bench, the down key will scroll to ‘Cancel’ option. Have you come across this issue?
Can someone explain how wild shinies work in the game to me? Is it like once one of the wild pokes becomes shiny it stays shiny until it’s either caught/killed or despawned? So like using a bench can reroll it to make it shiny but once it becomes shiny using a bench wont reroll it back to regular?
A question I had, do the spawns actually count if you rest/teleport again before you see them visibly spawn, I’m worried I’m doing it too fast, I have shiny charm and I got nothing in the hour
Hey. Does any bench near/in zone 6 work for the alpha Binacle there?
Do you have an optimal bench location for either 11 or 19? I’m after a shiny furfrou and getting very confused
Works well with 8bitdo Pro and Pro 2 using the hold function
I’ve tried the bench method and the teleport method and am a bit confused. Do these not reset spawns if you catch or knock out the mon you’re hunting for?
Quick question, if we are using the benches in the wild zone to reset, does it have to be within 50m as well?
From what I understand (might be wrong), resting in a bench resets the whole wild area so the 50m distance might not apply? If there is anyone that tested this, hope you would be able to let me know.. trying to shiny hunt tepig in wildzone 20.
I’m currently testing this on wild area 12 for a shiny female snorunt. It’s spawn is out of the range of the flight method meaning if this works it might be the best way to get it
Update- About 20 min for the first shiny to appear. Sadly it was a male. Time to reroll. Until I get a female.
Update 2- Left it to run for around 8 to 10 hours while I went to work. At some point it slightly glitched and ended up switching to them sitting on the bench with my pokemon around. So results might be a bit off but all told, I got 11 shinies. Three were spawned and caught early. This is including the one male snorunt I mentioned. This includes, Three vanillite, the one each of a machoke, machop, gogoat, Abomasnow(alpha), snover, snorunt(male), Pidgey and fletchling. The Pidgey and fletchling were from outside the wild zone. So yes the method works very well but it’s definitely not as fast as the stairs in 3 or the flying method but it’s a lot more versatile. Also a turbo controller is a requirement. But in functional time from my experience it’s close to 1+ shiny per hour rate. Happy farming.
Ps. Twelve total hours spent only one shiny snorunt and it was male fml.
Would love to try this, but I am guessing this only works for the Switch 2?
But arent shiny pokemon despawn with the Day and Nightchange?
Does this work for alphas too?
Will this despawn the shiny Pokemon due to day and night cycles?
Do you know if the benches neae Cafe Le Nah are close enough to reroll for the shiny Dratini? 🙂
Update! Ran the Wild Area 6/11 bench on my fiancée’s game (who does not yet have area 11 unlocked) for about 9 hours (about 1905 rerolls) and caught two shiny Magikarps and 3 Shiny buneary!

Does anyone know of any controllers that also allow for joystick macros like it constantly going in 1 direction or multiple over and over again?
Anyone successfully got a shiny eevee yet? I’m like 10 hours in and losing hope 😂
If the Pokémon is only or day like Rioulu, does changing to night despawn it? or he will appear again the next day??
I ran this exact setup for 5 hours in wild Area 6. No shiny haha.
Can some one help me with this?
If I already have 10 shinies spawned around d the map, but I can’t find them, will no more get saved?
Any bench close to a ralts?
Does this work in area 20? I see it working in other areas and have had success with certain spots. This zone just has a lot of changing Pokemon from who is on the outer bits to who is in the center. I want to know if I’m wasting time before I setup the method for a good 12 hrs lol
