My guess is they realized late af that giving a shit ton of items to everyone when no one has the storage to receive them was a bad idea.
I had to delete about 500 items once the new level update went live since I wasn’t about to spend 50$ for storage

This pmo actually, I collected 600 coins from gyms and the battle pass and spent it all on storage space plus deleted a ton of items just for them to give us this a few weeks later. It’s pretty annoying, and I would like all of those wasted resources back

I can’t tell if I got it or not. I’m still 400 items over limit. I already deleted all regular and great balls and a bunch of berries when the level update released. Haven’t played since
You’d have to be pretty gullible to believe it’s for ‘trainer appreciation’. My guess is that they were seeing a drop in item purchases because people didn’t have the storage to hold them and are still sitting on their levelling update goodies. They can’t FORCE you to spend those level items, so they increase storage instead.
I think it is 400 spot base on Oct 15 size.
I had 1150 back then on Oct 15, but from then till now I leveled up and bought some so I was at 1300 yesterday and today it become 1550.
Most of us already GOT some extra space out of pocket or level up, AND deleted tons of stuff…

Pretty sweet. Now I’m only at 6000+ items of 5000 spaces lol. It’s a start!
Can’t complain about free item storage but super annoying I’m offset by 25 items now. I really like having inventory in quantities of 100 but now I’ll always be cursed with having 25/75 item space.
I guess it’s nice that they did this but I wish they did it like two weeks ago because I already trashed a majority of my new items.

The level up gave you so many items that you ended up wellnover your storage capacity. Then when you went to spin stops to get eggs you couldn’t bc your items were over max.
Probably to make up for when they gave us the storage and way too many items so NOW they’re saying “Here’s more storage for those items you already tossed last month” 😁

Bit late. Already deleted items on top of buying storage.
Guess they noticed many people like me not spinning pokestops since the level changes. Sure, I threw out a bunch of stuff, but I didn’t want to throw away all the ultra balls they gave out. So I’ve been at full bag space by 300 for a long time.
And my storage space ends in 75. I can’t even buy 25 to round it up to the nearest hundred. This annoys me.
I thought I accidentally spend my poke coins of something actually! 😂
