For those of you who don't know, Totaka's song is a short melody that has been included as an easter egg in almost every game Totaka has worked on as a composer. Wii Sports is one of the only games he's worked on where Totaka's song hasn't been found, and people have gone a little crazy trying to find it.
Maybe this doesn't count because it's just the first measure or because it's slightly modified, but I'm surprised nobody's pointed out the resemblance here.
In all seriousness, I can't say whether this was intentional, but I felt like I had to mention it because HOLY SHIT, even hypothetically it would be so funny if after over a decade of searching, we figured out Totaka's song was just the first thing you hear when opening the game. I mean come on, that would be the most hilarious shit.
