with how much money i’ve spent on clothing items, and still need to spend, i’m certainly not complaining. just dropped like $400k at boutique couture yesterday ugh

  2. WolfScourge

Yeah but then they went and tripled the Luxury Ball prices

it’s nice really, playing through soul silver right now and I’ve been broke the entire game, just buying poke’ balls is all I can do, I can barely afford healing items and certainly not tm’s etc.

Thankfully I’m finally at the elite 4 and can farm them for money.

It makes sense for Lumiose because Kalos experienced an economic crisis after the ultimate weapon was fired.

I feel like it makes sense due to how many more pokeball you end up throwing when you don’t really have to worry about getting their health down necessarily. You can just throw a ball and catch a Pokémon. And it’s more enticing to do that so yo end up throwing more in legends when compared to a similarly Pokémon in a main title game.

  6. This is legit the best game to get your mons ev trained. Scarlett was so expensive to buy vitamins, now their Hp Ups and Proteins are dirt cheap. I rarely have to worry about coming up on money either since the game throws it at you with the ZA battles. What a huge quality of life upgrade. I haven’t had to use a power item once to ev train.

On top of that we have guys scrounging the ground for used Pokeballs, city life is tough.

Thank god Game Freak have finally done something about cost of living pressures.

It’s not a deflation, it’s a subsidy; there’s NPC chatter that talks about how the city is reducing the cost of goods like these to encourage trainers to move to Lumiose so they can do the ZA Royale thing.

  10. Pichupwnage

Kalos suffered massive deflation after the Lysandre money dried up + mass migration out of the region.

Luxury balls called and they’d like you to check other store prices

I nearly cried when I saw how cheap the vitamins were in ZA. It makes EV training so much easier.

I feel like BDSP was just overpriced tbh, and with how money was such a hassle to grind in that game it felt even worse

  14. WastelandBaron

Local government must have subsidized the price of basic goods in order to boost economic spending and incentivize people to stay after the Team Flare incident 5 years ago.

    Or TPC just rebalanced prices

  15. I just wish there was more reward for catching lots of Pokemon to go along with the cheapness of Pokeballs.

I’ve been playing the game for 10 hours with the same mindset as I did for Legends: Arceus, “catch everything I walk across”. Until I learnt that there’s basically no point in doing that except for farming for IVs and research tasks. Bummer.

On one hand, it kinda shows how the tech in Kalos has evolved over the last 5 years. Products got cheaper because they found cheaper/easier ways to produce them.

On the other hand, this game sort of expects players to adjust to the new combat system. You’re sort of expected to need to heal after every battle and a few battles in the royale will leave you needing to top off. That plus the catching challenges makes the need for items higher than usual.

I think it’s a function meeting flavor in a positive way. Way better than needing to craft 100 balls or pay an arm and a leg in Legends Arceus.

Regular pokeballs are so hard to use when the pokemon can kill you or get enraged

  18. Default_Dragon

Part of it is just because of how the game is structured. You have to catch so many Pokemon and battle so much for the research tasks and all that requires money (not crafting, unlike Arceus)- not to mention the fashion is a huge feature here and is just a money sink. So they gotta be generous with the currency-

But it is kinda strange that they would lower prices rather than just increasing winnings.

  19. Playful_Return_7440

Not to mention the vitamins being cheaper too, certainly makes it easier to get mons ready to obliterate everything.

  20. They can easily write it off as the city pushing pokeballs to cut down on the wild pokemon population.

If you have a problem get trainers to catch them. A little discount on a pokeball is better than repairing the street after an Exadrill plows underneath.

  21. Trick_Intern4232

Yeah there’s also a gift code that gives you 100 pokeballs for free, I couldn’t believe it 😂

  22. SupaSaiyajinBrue

Pokeballs are mass produced in Kalos. There is no import fee trickled down to the consumer.

  23. Podzilla99

I miss having the expensive stuff being 9800 pokedollars for some goddamn reason

  24. I would imagine its due to players needing a LOT more pokeballs compared to other games.

  25. thisshitthatshit

Prices are down but the city has anti-homeless benches smh

  26. Its funny to me since ZA has been the game I found easiest to grind money in.

  27. I am just happy to be able to directly buy premier balls.

  28. Interesting! Someone else pointed out that drinks are more expensive, though, like soda and lemonade.

  29. Cool_Drawer_6418

WIth the vitamins, i think it is because ev training is so easy in this game that you rarely use them unless you want to quickly max out a stat or if there is just a few evs left and you cant be bothered flying to a wild zone, whereas the pokeballs I feel like is because they are really easy to use up (I go through 60 ultra balls in abot 5 minutes)

  30. MrRaven95

I noticed that immediately. It surprised me, but I’m fine with it.

It’s the Beautiful world Lysandre wanted. 😭Livable wages and affordable products
