I'm not sure if I'm the only one who had this issue, but figured I would mention it on here just in case, as well as the sort of resolution provided by Niantic Support.
I had almost reached enough candies to evolve my Dipplin, who I had as a buddy during the Wild Area event. I had 7/7 dragon catches and candies that were well into the 300s due to a mix of catching during the Applin event, rare candies and walking with it as my buddy. I didn't play the event much due to being away, but did play the last hour of Sunday once I got back home.
I put an incense on and caught numerous Mighty pokemon. I then noticed after catching some dragon types that it had reset my Adventure Together count. I think the Mighty pokemon had caused a glitch.
I contacted support on Sunday and they finally acknowledged me today, which is slighlty delayed but understandable just after an event weekend. They have given me 400 Applin candy as an apology (slightly regret sinking all my rare candies into it now but all those candies will be useful so can't complain too much!).
Hopefully there will be dragons available to catch soon so I can finally evolve it (currently sat on 4/7 and 780 candies).
Did anyone else have the same issue or was it just me being unlucky?

Mega Garchomp is in raids next week, after that I guess maybe Jangmo-o during the Comm Day event?

Latios is in raids right now(dragon type) . I just did 7 of those quick
If you want to use mossy lure module you can get the applins from it, those are dragon types.

My girlfriend had that happen but thought she just remembered wrong.
She got the count back but maybe I’ll have her file a complaint because she desperately needs applin candy
Yes! Mine reset after I switched my buddy from Kubfu. I noticed with a few hours left and was able to catch 7 dragons and evolve it
Note to self: support CAN give out candies despite what they tell you

Dammit, that happened to me too but it was only the dragon-catch count; I didn’t lose any apples.
Oh man, mine reset too, and i never thought about complaining. I would’ve loved extra candy. Used rare candy to evolve it recently.

Do you have to report to get the benefit or everyone that evolved one gets it automatically credited in their accountÂ
My friend had Dipplin as her buddy to collect the 7 dragons needed for the evolution. She only needed one more and switched buddies to complete a different task. When she put Dipplin back in, the progress reset and went back to 0/7. This happened during wild area.
Still haven’t gotten any compensation for missing mega camerupt raidtickets on gofest Amsterdam.
I didn’t lose any candy, but my Dragon catch count did reset.
2 of my Dipplin got reset and it was before Go Wild (Nov 13th)
