Trying to make some starters but..

So I’m trying to make a starter line, it’s a bat that got really bad frostbite from living in an ice cold cave. But there are some things holding back, like:

1 – I’m not sure if it really looks like a starter

2 – I don’t know if the first stage transitions well into the second stage.

And 3, I’m not sure if the second stage is too complicated.

I want to figure this all out before I work on the third stage.
