Hello! This is my first Fakemon design.
I got inspired while talking with my girlfriend, she’s from the Philippines and told me about her meal hahaha! a small sardine called Tawilis, which is actually the only freshwater sardine in the world. It lives exclusively in Taal Lake, a volcanic crater lake in Luzon, formed inside one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines, that's pure fuel for imagination, and then found out about this subreddit and become immediate fan of all of your creations!
Sindiwilis — Water type — Sardine Fakemon
Name inspiration: A combination of the Tagalog word “Sindi” (meaning “to ignite,” “to light up,” or “to set on fire”) and the real-life sardine Tawilis.
Description:
Sindiwilis always looks like it’s in a bad mood, but this little sardine is actually just nervous, it tries to look confident despite its small size. It can swim pretty fast and uses the hard fin on its forehead as a weapon when threatened. Its body feels warm to the touch, and its scales are rich in minerals and vitamins, said to have rejuvenating properties.
Legends say that when a school of Sindiwilis gathers, the surrounding waters become pleasantly warm, creating natural thermal springs.
Mayagma — Water type — Red snapper Fakemon
Name inspiration: A combination of “Maya-Maya”, the Filipino name for the red snapper, and “Magma”, because, well, that's hot.
Description:
The hard fin that once sat on its forehead has shifted toward its mouth, forming a sharp, beak-like structure used to pierce prey. Mayagma swims at incredible speed, charging headfirst at its targets with explosive force. When threatened, it can highly heat its entire body, scorching predators that try to bite or grab it. Despite its fierce look, it gently cools its scales when resting beside trusted trainers.
Apoycalypse — Water/Fire type — Whale shark Fakemon
Name inspiration: A combination of "Apoy", that it literally means "Fire" and Apocalypse.
Description:
Apoycalypse is a calm and imposing Fakemon, known for the massive spiracle on its back that functions like a volcanic cannon. It can open its mouth wide to unleash super heated jets of water capable of melting rock. It’s said that Apoycalypse can shoot anything that fits inside its spiracle, though it sometimes gets overly ambitious. When something too large gets stuck, it falls into a terrible mood, locals claim that underwater eruptions are caused by its frustrated outbursts.
