Sorry if this is basic, but I'm trying to learn how the Dynamax battles work having recently restarted Pokemon Go after an 8 year hiatus.
I didn't have many Dynamax Pokemon, and the only fighting type attacker I've had available is a Gallade. I have him up to level 31 with level 2 Max attack, and thanks to the number of Ralts around in the past week I have plenty more candy to invest in him. Enough to get the level 3 Max attack, easily.
I was hoping to participate in the Snorlax raids this weekend, and they have helpfully provided a Machop for it, as well as candy. All the guides talk about how great Machamp is, but it's a substantial investment of dust and candy to try to level one up, and I couldn't get one near as good. I could probably manage mid twenties for level with Max attack 2.
How bad is Gallade compared to Machamp? I thought his fast attack hits quicker, which is good if you end up having to charge with him, and his attack isn't that much lower, given that you are going to be using the same max move regardless. Can someone explain/advise me about why nothing seems to mention him, and whether it's worth trying to level him more/get him Max attack 3, or should I just give up on trying to participate this week?
