Idk if I’m correct but I say Ray- Kwah – zah

  2. 1st_Born_Sun

I go by how they’ve pronounced it in the destiny deoxys movie: RayquAYza.

  3. DarkFireWanda

I will accept the 1st way is correct however that won’t stop me from saying it the 2nd way

  4. ultimateashin1761

i say the second one cause there is no y after the ua if there was on then it would be the first one.

I’m an old-head and say Kwah, but am ok with my kids using Kway.

I used to say the second until someone pointed out that it’s like saying quasar. Then the it had an official pronunciation that matched.

Which is funny, because in the past the Pokémon company hasn’t weighed in on official pronunciations before and stated there wasn’t any. So, maybe finally someone put their foot down and said we need it?

I’ve said Ray-Kwah-zah for at least 18 years. I’ll continue to say it that way until the day someone pulls the plug on me.

I don’t plan to ever run into Hironobu Yoshida, so I’mma stick with Ray-Kwah-Zuh

I’ve always said Ray-kway-zah. I don’t know whether I ever heard it said as a child, or if that’s just how I read it.

Haha. I skip driving myself nuts and cut to ‘Ray Ray’

  11. I’ve always pronounced it, and will always pronounce it Rayqu-AH-za.
It stung finding out that the official pronunciation is “AY-za”.
But RayRay is and always has been my favorite Legendary… my favorite pokemon in general. And it sounds far better in my head saying it the way I do. I’m sure I’m biased because I’ve always said it that way. But I’m stubborn and don’t care lol

  12. I know it’s supposed to be “ay” but I don’t say that there is a war in Gayza.

Im _fairly_ certain RayRay is named after quasars (Kway-zars) but i prefer “Ray-KWAH-zuh”

I grew up saying quah but it’s from “quasar” so I’ve switched to saying quay

It will always be ar-see-us though.

Ray-Qua-Za is a pretty clear three syllables. This is literally the first time I’ve ever heard that people say something different.

God himself could tell me its Ray-quay-zuh and I would still call it ray-quah-zah.
