This concept basically launched me into creating fakemon a few years back. This idea's been through a couple of passes, and this is my latest one.
It was inspired by that 1 line from the sinnoh library, folkstory 3: At one point, humans and pokemon were indistinguishable from each other. So where did humans come from in the pokemon universe? Sapiking and Sapiqueen. The Adam and Eve/Bigfoot/Missing Link equivalent. And Sapikid's evolution is a mix between well, evolution and humans growing up. A Sapikid can potentially evolve into a human or one of its parents
Sapiking is a normal/fighting type pokemon
Sapiqueen is a normal/psychic type pokemon (also the reason why some humans have telekinetic abilities)
Sapikid is plain normal type.
My biggest issue is finding the perfect balance between pokemon and human. I've looked at humanoid pokemon like machoke/machamp and gardevoir to help me make them, but I still feel something's missing. Maybe it's my art style, but I know this can be better.
Any advice on what I could do to improve the design? Maybe I'm done? What are your thoughts?
