Same happening with me😭😭. Just started my 10-12 day trip when winter event started. Also the zekrom raids now.

The ever-expanding relative difference between normal daily gameplay and fomo group events really makes the solo experience feel pointless and unrewarding.
Like, what would you gain if you decided to go NOW in the direction you wanted to go?
a Chance at some random shiny, if you’re lucky. Tiny heap of of Stardust, maybe. Get a Tier 1 or Tier 3 Raid done. Anything you’d catch would be outclassed by something handed out in a fomo event.
Group events were fun every now and then, because they felt _rare and special occasions,_ but the focus seems to be 100% on getting the gang to that mall CONSTANTLY, instead of it being a special occasion that is worth remembering. It’s gotten to a point where going to the meet up seems to be the expected normal, and opening the game outside of them is just a waste of time.

Im a nurse who works nights. Like… i cant do most spotlight hours or raids since I need to get ready for work @ 6pm. Also I’m required to work every third weekend 🙃

How it feels to work in the afternoon and night on weekends during community day hours. Same with the last two safari events. It fucking blows.

What do you expect Niantic to do? Big events are always on weekends (nearly every one), which is when most people have time to play. If you suggest having big events even more frequently, then that is going to get very tiring very fast.
I’ve come to appreciate the downtimes in this game (e.g. non-event days or events with spawns/bonuses I don’t care for) over the almost 5 years I’ve been playing. Taking breaks for a few days has allowed me to re-engage with the game without the burnout.

I work on saturdays until 5 pm. I always feel like its a personal middle finger to us who work weekends when a community day comes around and ends exactly when me and my collegues get off work.
