Murkrow’s new evolution line explores how magic and culture shape Pokémon as much as nature does. In the Athea region, two forms of Murkrow coexist. The original black-hat Murkrow reflects modern trickery and mischief, while the white-hat variant preserves ancient practices once tied to ritual magic. Instead of being separate species, they are two branches of the same lineage shaped by contrasting traditions rather than geography.
This older “origins form” continued to evolve, becoming Magikrow at a young age and eventually Wizkrow, a master of mystic arts. The wizard and witch theme highlights the idea that its power is not just darkness, but knowledge, ritual, and control over the unknown. Wizkrow represents the refined outcome of ancient study, a crow that learned magic instead of growing physically threatening like Honchkrow.
Its counterpart, the Magnidove line, represents light magic. Where Murkrow’s line studies secrecy and curses, Magnidove masters healing and glamour. The two lines mirror each other like folklore archetypes of dark and light mages. Instead of focusing on good versus evil, they show how different cultures shaped their magic differently.

Together they reveal that Athea’s magical heritage runs deep. Some Pokémon evolved by learning forbidden rituals, while others grew through sacred traditions. Murkrow’s wizard evolution is the result of knowledge passed down through generations rather than brute strength, making Wizkrow a living echo of the region’s mystical past.
