TLDR: Budget device for Pokémon Go that I found usable after configuration changes (other Android devices might benefit from too). No rooting or hacks needed.
Remove sim card from sim tray (this video shows how to eject sim card tray https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E00_osEbKr8 )
Power on Phone
Select your language then tap "Start"
"Set up manually" or "Connect to Wi-Fi," Some guides suggest wifi isnt required for initial setup but you'll need it to install Pokemon Go
Mobile Network/eSIM skipped since I will be using wifi
Sign in to Google account (Needed for Play Store)
Samsung Account not needed
Tap "Finish"
Settings > Software Update > Download and Install
Settings > About Phone > Software Information > Tap Build Number 7 times (this enables Developer Options)
Remove unneeded apps (Device only used for Pokémon Go)
- Remaining Apps: Camera, Contacts, Device Care, Device Pulse, Gallery, Gmail, Internet, Messages, My Files, Phone, Play Store, & Store
