So I’m trying to practice drawing Pokémon for my Australian/Oceania region and I’m trying to work on my Grass Starter. Can’t think of a good name for it though or the rest of the line.
Based on a Tree Kangaroo and the idea of scouting. Final evo is going to be inspired by the extinct Procoptodon (Giant Kangaroo) and be Grass/Dark type. Other starters are Fire Snake and Water Platypus but want to try and focus on Grass Line first.
Shared inspirations planned for the Starters are all final evos are based on extinct Australian megafauna and based on storytelling archetypes (Grass = Sage, Fire =Trickster, Water = Champion). I’m also wanting the lines to represent Australian tourism (Rainforest Hikes, Outback Safaris and Beach Going) as well as rescue services. (The water starter would be inspired by lifeguards and Bondi Rescue) But I don’t know what rescue services to draw from for Grass and Fire
I am open to any help or suggestions that could help me with the ideas I’m thinking about but also any better ideas or suggestions too. Any Aussies/ Kiwis who can help with cultural information too would be helpful because I really need some native insight as well.
