In 2025, I recorded the number of Pokémon I caught, Pokéstops spun, distance walked, and XP earned at the end of each day to see just how much I was playing the game on a daily basis (note that while I play every day, I don't consider myself to be a hardcore player). Now that 2025 has come to an end, I am ready to share the results of my data!
In 2025:
- I caught 34,699 Pokémon
- I averaged 95 catches per day
- I visited 17,297 Pokéstops
- I averaged 47 Pokéstops per day
- I walked 1,799.7km
- I averaged 4.9km per day
- I earned 36,071,211 XP
- I averaged 98,825 XP per day
Looking at the data from month-to-month, in general the summer months (June, July, August) saw understandably higher numbers across most metrics (primarily due to the warmer weather), with June and August being the top months across each metric except XP (which is skewed by my usage of Lucky Eggs in September and October). I also have some other charts that show the weekends seeing higher activity than weekdays, and spikes in daily totals connected to different in-game events like Go Fest, Go Tour, Wild Area, etc.
If you're interested in seeing more of my analysis and charts/data, here is my full post with the complete analysis (and fully interactive graphs too!): https://pokehexdexblog.wordpress.com/2026/01/05/i-tracked-my-daily-progress-in-pokemon-go-for-a-year/ – I plan to continue tracking this data throughout 2026 (and beyond) to see what kind of trends or changes occur from year-to-year!
