I have noticed that Niantic is actively promoting pokemon backgrounds but appears to be scaling back efforts due to limited player engagement. In my view, this stems from backgrounds offering minimal bragging rights , while seemingly trivial, holds significant appeal for many players. To address this, I propose the following: if a player’s buddy possesses a specific background, the player’s profile picture should adopt that same background.
