I did an issue report all the way on the 11th because my trades didn’t go lucky and they told me that the feature was based on how many total lucky Pokemon in your account and that if you had 45 or more in your account the trade wouldn’t go lucky (pretty sure it was an AI). I lost a shiny Zekrom and Gimmighoul (the Pokemon on the other side were from 2020) as they both didn’t go lucky. I have also gotten zero compensation. Niantic/Scopely needs to get their act together.
I just traded a pokemon from may 2020 on 1/14 and not lucky, pre sure I have not used all my gaurenteed yet unless 2025 pokemon lucky trades count, even then, don't think i was at 10 yet

There is zero chance — zero — that they couldn't fix this for everyone affected, and make those pokemon lucky with lucky-range IVs no worse than what they were given.
Unless the whole back end team needs to be fired.
Last year I did a trade with a friend and we were guranteed a lucky trade since it was a shiny groudon from 2018… it never went lucky and they were for sure and so was on in the counter ( which is needed by the way .. bc why have it as a feature if no one knows )? It never went lucky so sent in a ticket and they assured it has been used up and after this can’t even trust what they say anymore when they can just lie
It literally happened to me with a shiny kyurem. I wrote to them and they said I basically have too many luckies ( due to constant training with my family of 4 not due to unk pokemon) I clarified to them that it wasn’t due to 2016-2020 trades and they continued to stated that I maxed out. The hell, it was my second one for the new 10 cap increase. It sucks the feedback and service they provided. Now that pokemon is wasted. 😡
I recently traded one of my two clone charizard with a friend, if that failed just getting lucky friends back is NOT FIXING this problem.

If evolve able legendary Pokemon feature in upcoming spring season 2026 is Type Null, then others Pokemon Generation 7 are still no make debut in Pokemon Go will be introduce as well except mystical Pokemon. For example Mimikyu, Pyukumuku, Wishiwashi and Minior.
This is why you dont do it right away always wait for the glitch that happens from Niantic its widely known now

The worst happen to me, traded an apex lugia that date, then never lucky. reported it and that’s exactly what niantic replied to me. Now my apex lugia is 1 star only😭

Hi poke_ak. I can prove it to you if you wish but me and my friend were the trainers effected I have the proof. I will say Niantic took some time to respond to us. The Pokémon that were Traded was a Double Legacy TTar non Shiny for a Shiny Gigantamax Snorlax. my friend is a Fire fighter so I was being very generous. We Have multiple trades line up and he has done me very right thats what friendship is about in this community from my perspective. If you want the story I am a strong 2016 player in my community.
i traded with someone multiple times and only went lucky 3, i knew there was some sort of problem with it, also not lucky with them now like niantic said we would….
Give the people a free gold bottlecap to use on the traded pokemon and 250k dust. That would pretty much make up for everything other than the lucky background.
This is why you dont do ANYTHING when something new comes out. You know scopely/Niantic sucks, so stop giving them the benefit of the doubt and wait it out.
It definitely wasn’t just the 4th, it happened on the 13th as well because I did my first 2020 trade for this year and it didn’t go lucky. 😤

I mean.. I don’t do high risk trades using the old pokemon trade method. Yeah it technically should work and to no fault of the traders, but its just risky. I either wait for lucky friends to trigger or a trinket. If I use the old pokemon method its with mons that I’m okay with no being lucky even thought it would still kinda annoy me

1. Did they reset everyone's old45 counter? If you did 2 on Jan 4th and they didnt go lucky, they should confirm our counters have been reset.
2. People do 2 Special Trades per day right now, but they only are making people Lucky again once. If it wasnt a Special Trade, you could have done 45 2020 trades that day without knowing.
2. By some miracle, I accidentally traded a plain old regular Alakazam from 2020 for just something random (for candy) because I searched for distance100- and didnt filter by age. I was devastated when I saw it go Lucky and realized. But… I must be the luckiest SOB ever because it was late at night on January 4th and I saw just the other day that I was randomly Lucky friends with that person even though we hadn't done anything. Got another opportunity to use the Lucky system, paying better attention this time. So you're saying there's a chance!
