A friend jokingly challenged me to come up with a Mega Evolution for this Pokémon, but I wouldn't be myself anymore if I didn't take up the gauntlet 😂😂
My overall concept for this was that Gothitelle's psychic powers, which normally allow it to predict the future by reading the stars and all, grow completely out of its control and it begins seeing eldritch visions of other worlds and realities everywhere. For the design, I took inspiration from the stereotypical fortune teller with ample robes and lots of jewelry, and the disc-like things on its head turned into portals to the cosmic nowhere
Along with a few Dex entries, of course. I am a sucker for Lovecraftian horror, so i tried to give some really dark turns to this one, but following the usual Pokédex conventions of only implying it:
- Mega Evolution caused its psychic powers to grow out of control. People who stay near it are bombarded with hypnotizing visions of distant galaxies.
- It can open portals to unknown worlds with its mind. Those hit by its attacks are plagued with mind-shattering hallucinations for the rest of their lives.
- It is said that a Gothitelle that goes missing shortly after undergoing Mega Evolution has had a vision of something that nobody was ever meant to know.
