Mine and my partner's accounts have been de-synced since our first weekly challenge level up. I have been 7 days ahead ever since.
This morning after finishing our weekly task, his account showed we needed 5 more points. When I opened mine we became forever friends, after which the remote tag became available for both of us.
He can tag pokemon to trade and I can go through the entire remote trading process, but his remote trade button remains greyed out. His friendship list has an icon showing someone is trying to remote trade with him, but he can't interact with it.
