Has anyone actually caught these?



Am I just super unlucky or am I missing something? I’d normally complete these tasks within a day or two.

    I’ve actually never even seen a chespin or fennekin in general apart from the daily egg hatch. Started playing in July

    I’ve only seen fennekin. And only once. Not sure how to boost the spawns on these bad boys.

    67 grunts and counting and not one with the needed phrase. Its a scam but at least im getting a workout on my bike lol

    I caught all 3 but it sure wasn’t easy! I drove around for hours last night and this morning looking for the correct grunts to battle.

    I got the Chespin, no sign of the others so far. Keep getting the “Normal does not mean weak” jerk instead.

    I just need Fenekin and I found a fire grunt 3 times out of dozens and all of them had Vulpix 😭

    I’ve caught the shadow Chespin and that’s it. I caught it after a Team Rocket battle. I keep battling them hoping I’ll get another. I always do the collection challenges and want my medal dang it 😅

    They’re just low probability of getting these from grass, water, fire grunts. Designed for you to run around all day doing checks on grunt battles instead of doing grunt battles and getting good shadow pokemon.

    Basically comes down to what’s more important to you: getting shadows that are useful/interesting to you or completing collection challenges to work towards your medal.

    I wish they didn’t do these low probability catches and instead had a collection challenge where you had to catch more different types mon instead. That way you could do a lot of battles and not run around all day frantically looking for three specific ones. Just my two cents…

    Got Chespin and Fennekin pretty quick. Then it took about 15 water grunts to get Froakie. I never want to see that damn Tentacool ever again.

    We got all three today, but we spent about an hour in a large park with lots of stops that is a popular place to play the game checking every grunt to see if they had the right little hint phrase and battling ones that did.

    Probably checked 50ish grunts till we found the first one and then got lucky and found the others quickly after.

    Lmao I commented on a similar post earlier that I got lucky and caught all 3 and immediately got downvoted n blocked. 

    I STILL haven’t gotten the shadow qwilfish from the last one tho. Saw it once and they gave me the SECOND pokemon instead. 🙃
