I really like the idea of a pitcher plant Pokémon. The promblem is, I don’t really like the design of the existing Bellsprout line. This is my reimagining of the line.
I made bellsprout look more like a bell, with the syrup dripping from its mouth resembling the waggy part of the bell. I originally was going to have Bellsprout be green like my Weepingbell, but I changed it to a golden color to make its bell theme stronger. The leaves on its head are supposed to look like a little ribbon. I also turned it into a quadraped, making it look like a stand for the bell to hang above.
Weepingbell has the colors of real life pitcher plant. I wanted it to look goofy with the big curved lips inspired by Mega Vivtreebel, with some of the syrup dripping out. The goofyness of it is supposed to make it seem friendly to its prey, before swallowing it whole.
Victrebel is a lot more terrifying. Its mouth would look like Weepingbell’s when luring in prey, before opening its alien-like toothy mouth before mercilessly attacking. The beady eyes that are supposed to loke cute and friendly on its pre-evos now complement its horrifying look. I made its body pale and the other colors vibrant to create a big contrast like how it can look when passive or hostile. Its vine in the back is made to look more like a handle, and the rim of its mouth further completing the pitcher look.
