The Aulor region was one of my older projects from around two years ago, based on the east coast of Australia. Aulorian Chimecho is based on fairy floss sticks (Australians call cotton candy “fairy floss”, hence the type), while also being inspired by incense sticks. In this region, Chimecho trades its sound affinity for a sweet smell. The hole on its head, affectionately referred to by some as its bowl, is often used by Aulorian Chimecho to store small Berries, which over time, break down into a fine, almost mist-like confection. Nobody knows where Chimecho’s brain has gone, leaving some to speculate that it’s one of the few sentient species without one.
The whole gimmick with Aulorian forms was that they’d evolve into other Pokemon that aren’t related to them. In-universe, this was because of some energy that had spilled over the region that mutated some Pokemon or something like that. It was a good idea in theory, but I didn’t execute it very well. If Aulorian Chimecho faints to a wind-based move, it’ll evolve into a Fairy/Flying-type Aulorian Spiritomb, which I also might end up remaking.
