Feliform Pokémon are part of the Carnivoran Pokémon, the largest group of Mammal Pokémon currently known. Feline Pokémon include species such as Persian (Meovus classicatus spp.), Purugly (Glameus tigericatus) and Delcatty (Skittis primus), widely spread throughout the world and commonly kept as pets in many households, and larger dangerous species such as Pyroar (Litleus royalis). Feliform Pokémon is the smallest group of Carnivoran Pokémon, but regardless their evolution is still not completely understood. Many members of this group switch from quadrupedal to bipedal in some cases, or vice versa in others, it is currently unknown if this peculiarity in their ontogenetical evolution has any importance or it is just an adaptation to different ecosystems.
Without any doubt, the most widespread species of Feline Pokémon is Persian, due to its popularity as a house pet in many regions. Recently a new species has been described as related to Persian and it wild counterpart Perrserker (Meovus vikingii) from the Galar Region.
Sabertail (Meovus icetailis) is a species of extinct Feline Pokémon that lived during the Last Glacial Period in several European regions, and it was probably domesticated by early humans or human-related species. Analysis of the fossilized tail material discovered indicated that it might have been covered by several layers of ice. The current hypothesis is that these Pokémon would use their ice-type powers to create some sort of blunt weapon on their tails, used for interspecific and intraspecific combat.
The reason for the disappearance of this species is currently unknown, it is probably due to changes in environment, but early human interference has also been taken into account as a potential reason for their extinction.
