A little later than usual but still here 🙂
Todays card that we can shower with appreciation is Alolan Ninetales NUMBER 150 from the GUARDIANS RISING set.
Its Fairy type doesn't from from a source of magic but of light. It gets this because of the way the light is refracted through ice crystals which create auroras….its basically a living breathing light prism.
You would be wrong if you thought it had run of the mill fur, several Japanese Pokédex descriptions say its fur “shines like light on snow” — implying it’s not just white fur but ice particles reflecting sunlight, which is why it looks semi-transparent in some art.
It literally lives in place humans cannot access. Its habitat is described as “mountains too steep and cold for people” — implying it’s adapted to low-oxygen, extreme-altitude climates, unlike regular Ice-types which usually live in tundras.
In Alola, Ninetales isn’t just respected—it’s treated like a mountain deity.
People leave offerings instead of trying to capture it, which is rare for Pokémon not labeled Legendary or Mythical.
It is also currently the only non legendary Ice / Fairy type.
Thats all the facts I'll bore you with about Alolan Ninetales today otherwise to hear them all you'll be frozen in time.
