To me, it’s Pawmi and Pawmo that look the same. Pawmi is just flopped down on the ground and Pawmo looks like it stood up.
Pawmot at least has different hair and proportions.

Pawmi to Pawmot was all that needed to happen. I do appreciate that after… Well, since Generation 2 (if you want to count Marill and Azumarill), they’re letting the Pikachu clones/adjacents evolve. Pawmo was so very unnecessary, though.

One requires you to engage in a needlessly frustrating follow function where your pokemon can’t keep up and you have to constantly stop so it won’t return to its pokeball.
And I’m saying this as a Pawmi/Pawmo/Pawmot lover. SV had some amazing designs but absolute trash implementation.

I found more in common with Pawmi and Pawmo, especially when Pawmi is standing.
Aside from color scheme you would have to look for specific things like Pawmo having five fingers, shaggier ear and head fur, a spikier tail, and Pawmo having a wavier cream pattern on its arms.
Pawmot is far more distinguished. Bigger head, smaller eyes, scruffier head and neck fur, and in game it is much taller than either pre evolution.

I love Pawmot. Yeah, I know they look exactly the same and pretty much are aside from height and a couple tufts of hair, and I do recognize it’s the regional Pikachu that’s a little more uninspired than others, but I love him.(I have Stockholm syndrome from walking 1000 steps with Pawmo)
