We got a new series on the Nintendo Today! app, and it's Charles Martinet answering 40 questions!
Nice to see him in official Nintendo media again!

lmao, people are either going to love or hate his Waluigi response.

This was a wholesome thing to see upon logging in. I’m looking forward to the next three parts.

Hopefully this will put all those ridiculous rumors that Nintendo hates him to rest.

It’s interesting they still want to use Martinet in an official promotional capacity after retiring him- especially considering it seems to have not been his decision. He can still do the voices well, and I think some of the replacement voices aren’t quite up to par (I think Afghani’s Mario is alright, but not a huge fan of how Wario sounds in WarioWare: Move It, for instance)
Could be reading into it too much, though; it _is_ the series’ anniversary.

Honestly, hearing his voice in this, it makes sense why they recast. He still sounds great, obviously, as they didn’t pull a Simpsons and kept him on way too long. But you can tell he’s getting older, and a silly high pitched voice like that can’t last forever.
