On first look, it felt like another useless spotlight hour, but there's some* good bonus from this.
- 2x Catch candy: Perfect time to catch all that Glimmet from field reasearch. Add a pinap berry with rock/poison lvl3 mega evolution and youv'e really got some free candy.
- After catching all pending glimmet (if saved), time to swicth to lvl3 normal mega (audino/kangaskhan/pidgeot are some good options). batch catch whismur with incense and preferably using pinap (if plenty). reason is simple with 2x candy & active mega and pinap you can get upto 14 candy from single catch, and it only takes new 11 candy to evolve a whismur. stock about a hundred for an event with 2x or 3x evolution bonus, stack that up with a lucky egg and you can do some pretty good xp farming from evolving them.
I know this is not that great, but it's definitely something, especially for people who's tired of those friends not opening/sending gifts after 89th day or 29th day for long time.

Forgot to add you can catch a ditto too if you're lucky. i got like 6 ditto with one being 15 15 14 (thats going to home for sure)
