We've already seen half of the Gigantamax forms in just one year and three months.
If there are no changes at Game Freak and The Pokémon Company, we might see new Gigantamax forms in 2028, according to the TeraLeak.

There is also a 2nd wave of Mega Pokemon, Tarastilisation, Paradox Pokemon.
There is enough content to last a few more years

One of the dual types will come for wild area as well

Wasn’t orbeetle teased forever ago

It’s funny/sad Melmetal is the only Gmax that is neither Gen 1 or 8.
Edit: I missed Garbodor. Still…

Well, 5 of the missing ones aren’t in the game in any form. And while it didn’t stop the Galarian starters, 3 of them are still missing shinies (and 2 don’t have shinies in the MSG). I think they’re going to slow down the pace a bit. They also have shiny debuts of the GMax Galarian starters in their pocket.
Ajo1987
As someone who only has about half of the already released ones so far (and will likely miss out on Meowth next weekend), I wouldn’t mind them slowing it down and bringing some of the back again
ManagerHot8709
Ngl, seems like the content space was shorter than expected for gigamax. No doubt legendary dynamax will carry the mechanic for the next 1-2 years.
Redericpontx
Have they ever brought any back yet? I’m a returning player and want a shiny gmax gengar 🙁
Siderealdream
I’m guessing they’ll slow drip the hell out of these and make orbeetle this year for the wild arena event and drednaw next year.
alteaz27
Wouldnt be surprised if we get GMax Pikachu during some sort of massive lead up to Pokemon’s 30th anniversary (around Go Fest this year) as aside from a Pokemon Day that would be the time best fitting I think.
Also wondering just how theyre going to release GMax Urshifu. Whether or not they’ll limit it like Eternatus (Like, doing them gives you a resource, like GMax Soup so that you can turn your DMax Urshifu into a GMax, but you can’t catch more if you’ve already got one sorta deal.)
Lazydude17
I hate that eevee got teased and then didn’t get released, it seemed like they were setting up eevee, meowth, and then pikachu for go fest

I have none on rerun what would be the priority?
Rstuds7
i mean still a good amount of dynamax to come out
Last_Vehicle_2615
GMax Melmetal and GMax Urshifu is gonna be Mega Mewtwo equivalent. We know the pokemon exists, but Niantic is gonna gate keep them from us for years.
la-marciana
Didn’t they tease Gravitas ages ago? What ever happened with that?
blue_green_orange
Given they could dmax all existing pokemon, they have a lot of “content”
Positive-Pianist-218
Would be nice if the next Legends game after adding more Mega, they will add more Gigantamax next.
enter5H1KAR1
Wait have we already seen Meowth? Did I miss that completely?
Tummerd
Will they first do all releases, or also do some mons like Gengar again? I didnt get most but, would be quite sad if these didnt return at all only after the whole list is over
Gita96
Huh? What new Gigantamax?
r1gladdyv
Urshifu please come back home
Nervous-Peppers
Where’s the medal for these and dmax though
Self-Improvement-Red
Do they ever re-appear in raids? Recently started playing again and I have no Gmax mons, would I have to trade for them?
kummostern
so far all dynamax pokemon have been species that are available in sword&shield
but i wonder if before 2028 pokemon champions will introduce new dynamax pokemon that weren’t in sword and shield
i missed it but someone mentioned to me that so far dynamax bracelet (or some other dynamax item) has been teased for champions and we did see both megas and teras in trailers (we haven’t seen dynamax pokemon afaik)
and so far it looks like there will be a seasons system where rules change on rotation
thus i wonder if some pokemon are available that weren’t in those main series games while dynamax is allowed – then that may mean that we get new dynaamx pokemon
(they still need to make new assets but making “new” dynamax pokemon is much simpler to do than new gigantamax form: its mostly just bigger version of existing model, copy & paste the could above the head and change some colors a bit – gigantamax pokemon have unique details, may have different bodytype and overall look different from their normal counterparts – thus i’d assume its much faster to make dynamax pokemon than gigantamax and thus i am assuming we might see new ones somewhat soon…. also i think its the same company that makes assets for main series who also send them to pokemon go so if champions get new dynamax pokemon then pokemon go might get them at the same time or not long after)

This is the exact reason they do not promote max battles for this year’s Go Tour and likely for Go Fest. 100% focus on Megas.
ArcticWolfl
It’s rediculous they never gave us Gmax Urshifu, but did sell a ticket for a second Kubfu
ImWorthy13
Are GMax expected to rerun soon? I missed them all as I wasn’t playing and now I want them badly.
Reladude
I’m betting Pika next, not that I would want that although we could use an electric mega.
ObviouslyLulu
I still need Blastoise, Butterfree, Gengar, Kingler, Snorlax and Rillaboom out of the released ones

2028 isn’t too far off. We’ll have two more Wild Areas with guaranteed GMaxes (maybe three depending on Legends Galar’s timeframe, IF that gets released), and maybe sprinkle in like 2-3 new GMax battle days this year, next year, and 2028. Plus, they’re gonna rerun Eternatus at some point so that’ll be another max battle day taken up. They can get a lot of mileage out of running Eternatus yearly.
I am certain that there’s some subset of Scopely/Niantic devs/execs that are kept privy to future plans for main series games, and that they’ll adjust their GMax release schedule around that.
We also have a new system for Mega Raids (no idea how that’s going to be implemented yet) and they still have plenty of Legends Z-A megas to release, so that will take up a lot of content.
Plus, either gen 7 or gen 9 gimmicks within the next few years (Terastal and/or Paradox mons seems likely for 2026, and wild guess at Z-moves maybe being implemented in time for Alola Tour? idk probably not).
Finally, they have the basically endless supply of Dynamax raids they can offer. We’re already seeing a routine with their legendary Dynamax battle days. They can easily dripfeed that to us to stall the GMax content until they get more.
I think the game will be okay in terms of Max content. They pushed Max Battles heavy in the first year, which makes sense as a new feature. Now that it’s become a routine part of the game, they can afford to slow down on unique forms a bit.
Now, if Legends Galar doesn’t end up happening? Well… I dunno what they’ll do then lmao. Anything in leaks is subject to change, of course. But I’m pretty confident that whatever TPC’s plans are for the main series, Niantic/Scopely have already been informed, whether that includes new GMax forms or not.

I hate how they only do GMAX on weekends only. Wish they would bring it back for something like a GMAX week where you get a different one each week day.
For me it works better on weekdays as those are days when I’ll be in the city for work so generally a lot more populated. Around my home area its a tossup to get enough for a 20 man raid.
CDV_Solrac
Maybe a new Pokemon Legends is in the plans, and it will focus on new G-Max forms. Otherwise they would have to stretch the remaining ones out.
