So I've had this research task for the past two weeks or so and Cliff refuses to show up. I feel like I've defeated the other two rocket leaders about 10 times each in that time span. Cliff has shown up regularly before I got this task, so I don't know what the deal is. Do I need to do anything special to lure him towards me or do I just wait and hope for favorable RNG? I can accept if it takes me ages to complete this task. It's just kind of annoying at this point 🤷😄

You’re just mad unlucky with Cliff. Or if you want to be positive about it you can always act like he’s afraid of you

I’ve been stuck at Arlo for like 2 years because I gave up after a while, then quit the game and just cam back and this quest is still here
I had the same issue with Arlo. Only found him yesterday and it’s taken 24 hrs for Giovanni to show up. Just defeated him.

And I’m stuck ONLY with Clifff….. need the stupid Arlo…. 👿
And Cliff is so easy at the moment. Finally found him and he threw Magikarp first.
Have you tapped on your rocket radar to see where nearby leaders are at stops, and then go to see if any are Cliff?
Have you asked your local community on campfire, discord, telegram, facebook, etc. where people have spotted a Cliff for the day? Leaders at stops stick around all day, so they are easy to schedule time for.
Are you checking the game every 6 hours to see what new balloon you can get? You can see up to 4 each day, if your sleep schedule lets you look at the 00:00-06:00 time slot. Its fairly unlikely to see zero cliff for 2 weeks straight if you’re checking every balloon.
