Is Mega pidgeot or shadow better?

Hello, need some advice: purifying this pidgey gives me a hundo.

Do I purify or keep it as it is? Is mega pidgeot better than its shadow?

If purify, is it better to purify pidgey then evolve or evolve then purify (any difference in the order?)
