The Hand of Anguish:Kumozen

Long before humans chronicled the islands of Alola, a being from beyond the Ultra Warp traversed dimensions to rest at the foot of Mt. Lanakila. This entity, known as Kumozen, the Hand of Anguish, resembled a deity in both size and demeanor: its upper half vaguely humanoid, its lower half a sprawling spider, but despite its towering form, it was as light as a feather, drifting almost weightlessly across the land.

When Kumozen arrived, it did not bring chaos. Its presence was serene. The locals of Ula’ula revered it, believing it a divine ally of Tapu Bulu. The Pokémon shared the bounty of the land and promoted health and prosperity among the people. For a time, harmony endured, with humans and the alien deity living side by side.

But peace is fragile. Rumors of a treasure hidden within Kumozen’s hollow body spread among greedy humans. Their betrayal shattered the bond. In anger, Tapu Bulu unleashed its fury, tearing through the land and obliterating the very structures humans had built, including a Megamart erected at Kumozen’s sacred grounds.

Kumozen, embodying apathy and despair, did not strike. Instead, it summoned a cloud of calming sand that emptied the minds of all nearby, halting Tapu Bulu’s wrath and ending the bloodshed. The Pokémon retreated to its native Ultra Mountains, leaving the island Guardian to seal it away, a reminder that even beings of unimaginable power may prefer inaction to harm.

In the modern era, after the events of Ultra Sun and Moon, the weakening of the Ultra Space seals now allows Kumozen’s presence to bleed back into reality. Its apathy, however, is not mercy; it is indifference. Those who cross it may find themselves slowly consumed by their own exhaustion, as Kumozen lets the world crumble around it, unbothered.
