Hung out with a friend I hadn’t seen or talked to in a while to play some DND. Told him about my Pokemon collection and he goes “I have my binder from when I was a kid”. Pulls it out and told me “I don’t have anything crazy but you can look through it and take whatever you want”. He has had no interest in it since he was a kid but I told him I might buy some off of him. I flipped open the binder and on the first page was this banger. It was the only skyridge card he had. The binder was mostly filled with ex era cards, lots of holos and stamped reverse holos. I told him immediately he had a good chunk of change worth of cards and that the Gengar alone could go for around 1k in this condition. To cut to the chase, he asked if I could sell them for him since I’m pretty well versed in the market and he’d cut me in on the total. It was such an insane moment. I’ve never seen this card in person, even in this condition it was beautiful. Also the reverse stamped Legend Maker Gengar was insane too (4th photo).
