That's really disappointing that they are taking out something everyone enjoyed atleast I did what a shame
I hope there is outcry and they reverse it, what a stupid thing to do when saying days will each have unique things and removing the long standing one. On top op all the bonuses being helpful, it was just an opportunity to get targeted candy and sometimes pokemon hard to get in large quantities, such as the somewhat recent Sinistea one. Utter stupidity.

according to leaked pass on same date March 3 to 9, it is definitely 30th anniversary Pokemon, so like you said, it would be more like Kanto focused event
