Hi guys, I’m seeing this new “meta” for PSA 1s. I was speaking to a few long time collectors and they said 1s > anything between 2-8 grades.
The caveat however is that the valuable PSA 1 has to look good, which is counter intuitive imo, like it’s not intentionally folded or wrecked just to score the 1. But just naturally OC-ed, whitened from heavy play, minor scratches on the back, etc. but overall presentable at least on the front.
They claim it’s actually rarer than 9s for a good front facing 1 and the pop for that is low.
Personally I think it’s ridiculous but not a “stupid” point – but then again would you buy a PSA 5-8 over a “rare” PSA 1?
How are you guys thinking, approaching this? Thoughts on it in general?
