I normally cope reasonably well with small UI bugs, but this one is driving me batty because it interacts with another long standing bug to create a plague of locusts in my AuDHD brain.
The new bug is that the notification dot (re)appears on the binoculars continuously whether there is new content in the Today view or not. Entering the Today view clears the dot, but it reappears a few seconds later. Restarting the app, clearing the cache, reinstalling,…, nothing prevents the dot from reappearing.
The long standing bug (many months) is that the notification dot will appear on the binoculars at the start of an event or meetup, but the associated timed research does not. Restarting the app reliably causes the research to appear. I did not see the older bug in the list of known issues, however, the behavior has improved steadily over the months. It used to happen all the time for many folks in our group, now it is sporadic and happens for fewer people.
Anyhoo… The combination of the dot meaning there's something missing I need to surface and the dot being something I simply have to ignore is just awful.
Imagine the proverbial toddler saying "Mom?! Mom?! Mom?!…" the entire time you are playing the game and you get a pale shadow of the experience.
