They did I got it Saturday morning after powering through the first research. There’s no rush, there’s going to be kalos spawns during regular events.

They did. You just had to complete the Xerneas/Yveltal quest first.
I have roughly 50% of those 500 Kalos captures done already

my friend, I’m still in steps 2 or 3 for the shiny jirachi research. it took me almost 2 years to get shiny celebi.

They did, but you had to do the event special research first. Due to that I fast tracked it so I can get the spawns during the event.

They did. I’ve been working on it for two days. Almost caught my 500 kalos pokemon. You should probably put an edit in your post that you messed up.

if you have an auto catcher catching 500 is nothing. If you don’t it’s going to take a while.

Exactly what I thought when it appeared. I took my time to finish the Furfrou research, because I was concentrating on raiding – so this appeared right at the end of the event 🤦🏼♀️

Everyone else gave the answer you need, but I’ll tack on an extra thought:
As someone who DID complete the XY Special Research in time & grinded out those 500 catches across yesterday and today… I don’t feel like they conveyed well enough that you have to finish the XY research to make this Masterwork appear. Heck, the official Kalos Tour Global page simply says that buying the ticket will give you the Masterwork, full stop, no prerequisite mentioned.
