People are reporting that the perma-boosted mons have now a full odds chance of being shiny. Some websites that estimate the shiny odds of certain pokemon are showing that scyther, onix, lapras, gligar and other perma-boosted mons are showing that they have a 1/512 chance of being shiny now. Not sure if that is a bug or a permanent change.

The 2nd picture is a bug. First is rock ground
With this game I’d put it down to a bug initially. Toggling it for all evolutions and their complete lack of any testing. I wonder if Galar Bird odds have been effected too, I guess they’re not technically Kanto in the in game search so perhaps safe
post removed in 3..2..1..
Probably a bug but is this the first time shiny odds have been nerfed for an event??
Hot take but I kinda like that. Shinies are already super easy in this game we don’t need ones that don’t matter at all.
It’s most likely a permanent change. This site isn’t allowed so it’ll get deleted. It was discussed yesterday then deleted for the same reason. It is what it is.
I made a post about this yesterday that mods deleted without giving a reason.
It isn’t just permaboosted pokemon. Even pokemon that have megas are now full odds in the wild.
I never knew they were perma-boosted mons. Are these two the only ones that had been boosted, or were there more before?
Oh my god not Scyther. One of my white whales.
Glad I finally got scyther shiny last weekend 😅
The thing is, regional forms seem to be permaboosted, at least from my experience this week
Interesting, maybe this is connected to Smeargles shiny being available right now even though it shouldn’t?
Worth noting – they made it clear going forward that all raid and egg pokemon will have increased shiny odds.
So this might be a permanent thing and maybe they’ve just blanket levelled the wild shiny rates to full odds, and we’ll find everything else has a higher rate in eggs and raids to even it out. You’ll find yourself hatching more shinys vs catching.
Which makes sense from a financial aspect for them as a business. Why would anyone bother hatching or raiding certain things before when it was so easy to get a boosted wild shiny rates
Permaboost? What’s that?
I have plenty of all those shinies so it doesn’t affect me, but I liked having some permaboosted shinies in the wild. If someone called out a hundo it was the best chance for a shundo outside of Comm Days.
And at the same time they diluted the research task spawn pools 🤦
I was thinking that I caught so many heracross the last week and I’m not getting 1/64
i actually love this change, shiny pokemon should feel special and perma boosted ones became far too common to the point where i found myself transferring them cuz i had so many
The end of an era? 🥲
