I really took a dive into the deep end with this one.
Garchomp here, who was a gift for my brother, was the third plush I attempted to make after my initial foray into this medium with Gengar and Ampharos. Comparatively, the amount of detail and shapes involved was a huge leap in the difficulty from my first two, but somehow I think I managed to pull it off.
This was the first of my series of plush that I realized that the best means of keeping things relatively 2D would be to mimic game sprites, by using the same silhouette for the front and back angles, but changing the perspective of the details to convey a sense of dimension.
As I think I will reiterate as a PSA with each of these felt plush posts, I highly encourage anyone reading this to take a break from the screens and the noise of life to grab some supplies and make a craft project. I truly believe that expressing our creativity in this way is an important pillar of good mental health, and when you make something for a friend or loved one, it serves to better both of your states of mind.
Thanks for checking out my work!
