We got so little out of the Pokémon Presents on Pokémon Day that it got me thinking, what were they teasing? With the slogan “The future awaits” and the over the top arts, I can’t see they simply teasing a new set, not even the 30th year anniversary with those elements.
Hear me out, what I expect is that they will announce a new mechanic to PTCG using a fairly old concept but in a completely innovative way using new technology: lenticular effects to combine two cards in one introducing “dimensional (dx)” pokémon.
Pokémon and nintendo are known for inovation, creativity and fun beyond reality. What is next besides the full art, special illustration popping-out-of-the-cards, if not another dimension?
After the japanese one and only lenticular deoxys card, we have never seen another one like this. Until now. They have been scheduling releases of jumbo lenticular cards, which are cool and all, but what if they are nothing but a simple teaser?
No, this is not a leak post, nor meant to be too serious, but really, imagine the possibilities! A Mew/Mewtwo dx that have double the attacks and HP? A Venusaur dx grass/psychic that could choose the type of its attacks as well of its defenses? A Mega Charizard X/Y dx with two different abilities and moveset? Twisted dimensions that break reality itself, the pokémon, their types, and your brain. How cool it would be to need to pick up and turn the card in order to see its full details instead of a simple glance? Now that would be game changing!
Well i just wanted to share you guys this crazy idea that came to me. I don’t know if any of it will come true this year, but I really hope some of it will some day in the future. Share your ideas and expectations here! Peace!
