Must be fun to buy and sell Nintendo stock considering how wacky it moves.

Guess we probably can’t do that unless we are Japanese?

I think this game has serious legs and is probably the biggest reason to own a switch 2 as crazy as that sounds.

So I like Stardew Valley but Animal Crossing never really clicked with me. Minecraft I’ve always been indifferent towards.

    Would I like pokopia?

  4. I thought the wind and waves announcement was our special 30th anniversary gift. Turns out it was Pokopia and Nintendo themselves didn’t even seem to know either. I’m 40hrs in and incredibly impressed.

  5. I honestly wanted to hate this game, but I’ve been playing it nonstop since its release. On the surface, it doesn’t appear to be worth its $70 price (which almost deterred me from buying), but the game combines the best parts of Animal Crossing and Minecraft, while introducing new aspects to a typical sandbox game. Definitely worth the money, as I’ll easily be sinking 100+ hours into this.

Decided to get a Switch 2 because of this game. That probably tell you something

Given basically everyone on my friends list is playing it, including people I wouldn’t have expected, I expect this to do numbers.

One of those decisions that looks stupidly obvious the more you look at it.

Animal Crossing (the best-selling Switch game) mixed with Minecraft (the best-selling game period), as a Pokemon game (the highest-grossing franchise ever). Obviously you have to make a good game after that, but conceptually it’s such a home run you have to wonder what took so long.

It helps that these series and genres have an inherent compatibility, but I would be very surprised if Pokopia did not become a staple series going forward.

First time in ages I’ve seen so much positive news and buzz surrounding a Pokemon game.

I hope they support it, and give some dlc in the future

Waiting for my copy to arrive this Friday! Hopefully, I can finish re9.

Thankfully it’s the team behind Dragon’s quest builder 2 that developed Pokopia, when a game is fun to play and developed correctly it can be a system seller

I dont think its “following pokopia” – the stock went down massively and 15% is barely a recovery, its still down 18% in the last 3 months.

You definitely cant say the game and stock are related news, if you say theyre directly linked – youd also accurately be able to say “nintendo stock down 20% following pokopias announcement”. Its nonsense from a company who also announced a billion dollar movie and is increasing park revenue.

As much as its a meme to say it, id say ‘pokemon game sells’ is priced in to nintendo stock and the release of one isnt going to shift it like take two had with the gta 6 announcement.

“game good please buy game” news off a website that makes its money off affiliate links is entirely fluff and you can ignore it.

If you bought Nintendo stock 5 years ago, you would only be up 7% 🤣 don’t let this news trick you thinking Nintendo is a good investment

Me and my wife currently fight to take turns who has the switch 2 after work and its interesting to see such different play styles my wife wants every new pokemon to be happy and after about 20hrs of playtime still has not left the first “map” meanwhile im about 25 hrs in and I have been to 3 “maps” and done all the story beats in 1 and 90% of the 2nd as well as dabbling in the 3rd. Although now i am enjoying building up houses brick by brick now and thats pretty addictive

The game deserves all of the praise it’s getting, and it’s given a hell of a high bar for Winds & Waves to try and clear. My hope is that the game’s immensely positive reception and economic success will show TPC that trying to clear that bar will absolutely be worth the investment.

Seems like this game will keep me busy for a looong time maybe a full year.

Investors: 100+ year old company that has made many of the most successful video games of all time definitely wont survive this ai chip shortage! Sell sell sell!

Investors 3 months later: wait they make a good game??? Buy buy buy!!

This tracks. I’ve never been a player of “cozy games” and I’ve been obsessed with Pokopia.

““The Pokémon game was a dark horse,” Toyo Securities senior analyst Hideki Yasuda told Bloomberg. “It was totally off people’s radars, making its popularity a positive development.””

Sounds like people really underestimated this game but it’s Pokemon, the most successful IP ever! I know many were confused at the reveal, I was too. But it turned out to be very addictive!

  22. Naruga418

This game did exactly what I expected from the new Animal Crossing title to come after New Horizons: to allow the player to build housing and buildings facing any 4 directions in conjunction with the ability to have the camera facing any direction, like you can when you’re inside your Animal Crossing home.

  23. Omega-Force 🤝 Mismanaged Nintendo IPs
    Deliver awesome spin-offs

This and RE9 are the next Barbenheimer. Resident Pokopia.

  25. JeritoBurrito

Damn who knew that making high quality games using the world’s biggest franchise would result in nothing but positivity.
